Alfred M. Hagen, 88 of Paragould died Wednesday at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born September 9, 1922, in Engleberg, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Monroe and Josephine Weisenbach Hagen and brother and sister-in-law Edward & Edie Hagen. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Fairrie Hagen of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Laura Hagen of Paragould; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald & Vaudine Hagen of Gassville, AR and Lawrence and Sadie Hagen of Port St. Lucie, Fl. Grandchildren, Shawn & Chandra Hagen of Silver Spring, MD; great grandson, August Hagen of Silver Spring, MD, several nieces and nephews Mr. Hagen served in the Navy Armed Guard in WWII as a gunner's mate on supply ships. Al retired from Paragould Light and Water on September 9, 1984, after almost 40 years as Chief Engineer and Superintendant of the Downtown Paragould power plant. He was an avid duck hunter and antique car buff. He also enjoyed "harvesting" his apple, peach, pear, and nectarine trees in his spare time. Rosary will be Thursday evening at 6:30 P.M. at Heath Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the Rosary 7;00- 8:30 P.M. Funeral mass will be Friday morning at 10:00 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Father Mike Sinkler officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Pepper, Larry and Avery Beliew, Keith Legrid, Mark Martin, Tim Simpson. Memorials may be sent to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
