We are sorry, yet rejoice to inform you for the earthly departure and heavenly arrival of our mother Ruth E. Everett, age 86, of Paragould. She took the 9:00 AM flight, Monday, February 15, 2010, from her home. Take off was smooth after 86 years. There were often layovers at various terminals in her life, but mom never complained. She was born February 2, 1924 the daughter of the late Ralph and Hattie Sawyer Briggs. In addition to her parents, her beloved husband, Owen Everett, daughter, Brenda Everett, brothers Jack and Cecil Briggs took flights to heaven before her. Ruth was employed by Arkansas Extension Service as a home economist, was a leader and programs director for the 4-H program, PTA president at Elmwood Elementary, member of the Eastern Star, City Beautiful Committee, and American Legion where she was in charge of the Veteran's Poppy Sales, raised money for March of Dimes, was a regular blood donor and was named Mom of the Year. She was a charter member of West View Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, visited nursing homes and the sick and elderly and served on the ministry for the church. She was Beloved. She left behind her children: Terry Everett of Boyle, MS; Gary and Sandy Everett of Vienna, VA; Larry and Judy Everett; Linda and Danny McDaniel, all of Paragould; Betty and Ken Hebert of Little Rock; Darlene Everett, San Antonio, TX; Janet St Clair of Youngsville, LA; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday at Heath Funeral Home. Her life will be celebrated at West View Baptist Church, 1:30 PM, Friday, February 19, with Reverend Marc Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
