Nathan James Reeves was born to James Ronnie and Susan Reeves on November 11, 1984 at Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, AR. He passed away on August 21, 2018 at Regional One Medical Center in Memphis. He was surrounded by a host of family and friends.
Nathan leaves behind his loving wife Woodra Brook Reeves; their son, Aiden James Reeves, 9; their daughter, Ila Suvene Reeves, 2 1/2; his parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Shaunda (Bo) Brewer; nephews, Cap and Bodie Brewer; his Granny, Joy G Newberry; his beloved Golden Retriever, HAWK; and his aunts and uncles, Glenda Ruth Vick, Sue (Charlie) Pillow, Connie (Randy) Gray, Tammy(Darrell) Birmingham, Debbie Stephens, and John Lee (Jan) Newberry.
He also leaves behind his grandmother-in-law, Sue Brown; father-in-law, Chuck (Johnice) Brown; grandparents-in-law, Don (Pat) Lindsey; mother-in-law, Ann Adams; sisters-in-law, Brittni (Clay) Harrison, Chassity Hooten, Harmony (Paxton) Lee; aunt-in-law, Missy Pennie; nieces, Amelia Lee and Brayleigh Hooten; nephews, Damon and Lyrick Harrison and Braxton Hooten; and many cousins.
He also leaves behind many lifelong friends who he called family.
He was proceeded in death by his maternal papa, John D Newberry; his paternal grandparents, Lonie and Pauline Reeves; uncle, Ty Stephens; nephew, Isiah Nelson; and grandfather-in-law, Kenneth Brown. Nathan joined the Arkansas National Guard in December 2008. He was deployed in August 2012 to Afghanistan. Nathan was presented the Challenge coin by Brigadier General Weeks for his hard work and dedication to ensure a successful mission along with various other medals, badges, and ribbons. He worked at Vick's Irrigation with his cousins.
Nathan always had a smile and was ready to help anyone. He was always the first in line to eat. He loved to help with Aiden's basketball and baseball teams. He loved to tickle Ila under her chin and make her giggle. He enjoyed deer and duck hunting and fishing.
Visitation will be Friday night from 6-8 at Heath Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday at Heath Colonial Chapel at 11 am. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Yong Ko, Derek Henson, Matt Davis, Drew McDaniel, Drew Kellums, Josh Mangrum, Nate Greer, and Seth Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Mitchell, Mark Davis, Tyler McCarty, Blake Woods, Brantley Rucker, Kiley Hurt, and Nick Lashley.
