Joan Flanrey Maddox

July 11, 1941 — November 13, 2020

Joan C. Flanrey Maddox, 79, of Paragould, passed away Friday in Jonesboro at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Hershell and Lucille Futrell Flanrey. Joan was a homemaker, of the Baptist faith, and a graduate of Dixie High School. She was a proud member of the Daylily Society, and in her free time, she enjoyed shopping, reading, and collecting tea cups. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James F. Maddox; son, David Maddox; grandson, Colt Maddox; brothers, Floyd Flanrey and Larry Flanrey; and sister, Mary Blumberg.

Survivors include sons, Paul Maddox (Cathy), of St. Louis, Missouri and Michael Maddox (Lisa), of Worth, Illinois; grandchildren, Sarah O'Neill (Sean), Beth Maddox, and Andrew Maddox; great grandchild, Jace O'Neill; and sisters, Wanda Howerton, Bonnie Fesler, Judy Speaks (Doyle), and Georgia Jackson.

Visitation will be Tuesday at Heath Funeral Home from 12:00-1:00 pm. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Pine Log cemetery. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Please wear a face covering inside the building and adhere to social distancing as recommended by the CDC.
