Darrell Hendrix

Darrell Hendrix, 89, of McDougal, passed from this life on Saturday, May 21, 2022. He was born on October 8, 1932, to the late William and Susie Reed Hendrix. In his early years, Darrell worked at Virco Manufacturing Corporation in Conway. After moving to northeast Arkansas, he began farming. He loved to farm, and it became his passion for many years. He married Edna Pence Mooneyhan and became step dad to nine children. In his spare time, Darrell enjoyed farming, fishing, and camping. He loved to work on old lawn mowers and tractors. He was preceded in death by his parents; half brothers, Raymond and Gene Bowen; and step daughter, Brenda Schniedermeyer.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Hendrix; brothers, William E. Hendrix and David Earl Hendrix; step children, Travis Mooneyhan of Lafe, Lance Mooneyhan of Marmaduke, Dennis (Lillie) Mooneyhan of Marmaduke, David (Rosalie) Mooneyhan of Piggott, Roger (Rose Mary) Mooneyhan of McDougal, Raymond Mooneyhan of McDougal, Carol (Tony) Liles of Lafe, and Sharion (Raymond) Criffield of Bangor, Michigan; 28 grandchildren; and 58 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2-3pm at Heath Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 3pm with Rev. Rob Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Pallbearers are Travis Mooneyhan, Raymond and Andrew Crifford, and Lance, Dennis, and Jeremy Mooneyhan.
