Bertha "Louise" Cook Braeckman

Bertha "Louise" (Cook) Braeckman, age 93, of Paragould, Arkansas formerly of Chicago, Illinois, went to her Heavenly Home on August 21, 2021.

Louise was the 8th child born on December 19, 1927 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Orange Claude and Ida Eva (Tilcock) Cook. At the age of 13 she went to live with her older sister in Chicago, Illinois after the loss of her mother. On September 13, 1947 she married her childhood sweetheart William Braeckman, Sr. in Chicago, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and siblings.

She is survived by her children, Nancy (Jeff) Lamos, Darlene (Albert) Hilliard, William, Jr. (Theresa) Braeckman, and Cheryl (David) Stone-Johnson. Linda (Marian) Michaliszyn was like a daughter. Grandchildren, Frank (Lisa) Skornia, Janine Legge, Tracy (Jason) Parr, Adam Braeckman, Sean (Dana) Braeckman, Sarah Stone, Jaclyn Guerasio, Vince Casale, Nela Ferris, David Johnson II, Brian Johnson, and Joshua Johnson. Great grandchildren, Bryan, Noah, Ethan, Caleb, Cayla, Joseph, Preston, Nic, Jon, Tristen and Presley. Great-great grandson, Wyatt. Her niece Darlene (Paul) Sommerer, who was like a sister, and a host of other loving nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at the Paragould Church of God where she attended church, located at, 1404 Hwy 49B, Paragould, Arkansas on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:30 am with Rev. Gary Smith and Rev. Marian Michaliszyn officiating.
